Our Story
Two decades of dedication to the art of bespoke tailoring in Norway.
Where Craft Meets Character
Oslo Skredderi was founded in 2003 by master tailor Henrik Andersen, who trained for twelve years under some of the finest tailors in London's Savile Row before returning to his native Norway. His vision was simple: to bring world-class bespoke tailoring to Scandinavia while honouring the understated elegance that defines Nordic style.
What began in a modest workshop in Grünerløkka has grown into one of Norway's most respected ateliers. Yet our approach remains unchanged. We take on a limited number of commissions each month, ensuring that every client receives our undivided attention and every garment reflects the countless hours of skilled handwork that define true bespoke craftsmanship.
Our team today includes five full-time tailors, each specialising in different aspects of garment construction. From pattern cutting to final pressing, every step occurs under our roof, allowing us to maintain the standards that have earned the trust of clients across Scandinavia.
The Bespoke Process
Creating a bespoke garment is a journey that unfolds over several weeks. It begins with an unhurried consultation where we discuss your needs, preferences, and the occasions for which you'll wear the finished piece. We explore fabrics together, consider details, and take upwards of forty measurements to create your unique pattern.
From there, our tailors cut the fabric by hand, assembling it into a baste fitting that allows us to refine the silhouette. Subsequent fittings follow as the garment takes shape, each one bringing us closer to the ideal balance of comfort and form. The result is clothing that moves with you, flatters your frame, and will serve you well for years to come.
